The 1980s era is a melting pot for incredible music. During this time, new sounds and beats were constantly being invented by up-and-coming artists. That’s why Lost 80’s Live is organized to revive this remarkable era in music. Since its inauguration in August 2002, the concert series has featured countless iconic bands that rocked the 80s during their heydays. Bands performing in the highly-anticipated shows will showcase various genres, including synth-pop, pop-rock, new wave, electronic music, and more. This 2023 Lost 80s Live presents an exciting line-up of bands ready to bring the era back to life.

The new wave group, A Flock of Seagulls, hails from London, England. The Grammy Award-winning quartet got together in 1979 and enjoyed a commercially successful career. They released their self-titled debut album in 1982 and charted in seven countries, including peaking at number 10 on the U.S. Billboard 200. The critically-acclaimed album spawned several hits, including “Telecommunication,” “Modern Love is Automatic,” and “I Ran (So Far Away).” After their stellar debut, the band released six more excellent studio efforts, including their latest album, String Theory. The record was performed with the Slovenian Symphonic Film Orchestra and contains several notable tracks, including the lead single, “Say You Love Me.”

Another sensational new wave band from England, Wang Chung, will also hit the stage at the Mountain Winery. The band, comprising original members Nick Feldman and Jack Hues, rose to prominence in 1984 upon releasing their sophomore effort, Points on the Curve. The album, released through major label Geffen Records, featured U.S. Billboard Hot 100 hits, “Don’t Be My Enemy,” “Don’t Let Go,” and “Dance Hall Days.” Some of Wang Chung’s other notable Top 40 hits include “Everybody Have Fun Tonight” and “Let’s Go,” spawned by their third album, Mosaic, released in 1986.

It has been a while since fans have seen Birmingham natives, General Public, on stage. After releasing their third effort, Rub It Better, the new wave group has taken a lengthy hiatus. In 2002, the band released a compilation album called Classic Masters. Despite their prime period being short-lived, the band had released several iconic new wave staples, such as “Tenderness,” “Never Done That,” “Too Much or Nothing,” and “I’ll Take You There.” The band joins the Lost 80s Live line-up, and this very rare appearance alone by the English band is worth seeing at the summer music fest!

Score tickets now to see A Flock of Seagulls, Wang Chung, General Public, Wally Palmar of the Romantics, Missing Persons, Naked Eyes, Animotion, Stacey Q, Shannon, Musical Youth, and Trans X! This incredible show conquers the Mountain Winery for one-night!
