Get stunning views of the environment and a choice of many outdoor and indoor event spaces. The Grand Hall is the largest indoor event space, and the amphitheater is the largest outdoors. Club Masson also showcases the winery’s musical history. Outside, The Mountain Winery also offers trees, gardens and tranquil spaces like the Chateau Deck where you can admire the magnificent views.

Dinner and a Show

If you want to relax and enjoy the whole winery experience, you can also book in for a gourmet dinner before the show. You can reserve a table in your choice of location, with menus varying from cantina-style Mexican to full-service northern California dining.

For the ultimate night out, The Mountain Winery offers Premium Dinner Packages that include priority entry, reserved seats, VIP Preferred Parking and a 3-course fixed price dinner at Chateau La Cresta.

What to Expect at a Mountain Winery Concert

Concert facilities at The Mountain Winery include on-site parking and ADA accessible golf carts for assistance. The amphitheater is set up with an impressive stage, with efficient sound and lighting equipment. WiFi is available.

Visitors say that there are no bad seats in the amphitheater, and that the sound and lighting effects are good. It’s such an intimate space that everyone is close enough to see and hear comfortably. The location offers wonderful views and beautifully designed gardens and event spaces. Some downsides are that food and beverages are costly, and focus on wine and cocktails over beer choices.

Parking is fairly limited and it’s best to reserve spaces in advance. In any event, you should get there early, as the roads are narrow and winding. Once through the main gates, the only access road is The Mountain Winery’s driveway and you have to drive. Walking or biking in isn’t permitted, and there’s no shuttle service or public transport. Traffic queues can take up to 45 minutes to clear after a show.

Famous Performers at The Mountain Winery

Back in the day, when it was still a famous wine-producing concern, Paul Masson hosted famous visitors such as Charlie Chaplin, John Steinbeck and Orson Welles.

When the concert bowl was built, people flocked here to see Ella Fitzgerald, Tony Bennett, Muddy Waters, Airto Moreira and Flora Purim. Other stars appearing at The Mountain Winery include Stevie Wonder, The Beach Boys, Aimee Mann, Ringo Starr, Lyle Lovett, Santana and Phil Collins.

In recent years the playlist is equally impressive. You’ll come here to see the likes of Chris Isaak, Sarah McLachlan, Josh Groban, Tori Amos or Boz Scaggs. Oldies are a favorite, with concerts celebrating bands of the 80s and 90s. Remember Duran Duran, Cyndi Lauper, Steely Dan or UB40? They’ve all played at The Mountain Winery.
