Born on November 6th, 1986, in Tulsa, Oklahoma Ben Rector, trained on the piano at a very young age and has become praised for his heartfelt lyrics and no gimmick sound, which is a welcome change from the bubblegum pop around.
In 2006, Rector gave the world his debut album, “Twenty Tomorrow,” which was recorded during his time as a student at the University of Arkansas. The album quickly gained a following owing to its introspective lyrics and beautiful sound as well as Ben's raw, undiluted talent.
His follow-up sophomore album, "Songs That Duke Wrote," was released in 2008 and was inspired by his grandfather's life experiences. Like his first album, people loved it and it received critical acclaim as well as cemented his status as a rising pop star in the indie-folk genre.
It was in 2011 that he started receiving national attention for his third album, “Into the Morning." By this time, he had a huge back catalog of music that started getting featured in hit shows such as “Pretty Little Liars" and “One Tree Hill,” taking his career to a new level.
His fourth album arrived in 2013, called “The Walking in Between,” and the album managed to climb up the Billboard 200 chart all the way to number 16. It spawned the hit singles "Beautiful" and "When I'm With You." He also made his television debut during this time, performing "Beautiful on Jimmy Kimmel Live.
Further Billboard success came in 2015, with his fourth album, “Brand New,” peaking at number nine on the Billboard 200. Currently, He has released an incredible eight albums, enjoyed huge success, and given people some of the most incredible music.
